Turmeric bliss balls

Dear yogis!
I would like to share with you my new obsession: turmeric bliss balls! Like most of my favourite recipes, they are very easy to whip up in a few minutes, and they are jammed packed with nutrients. The turmeric gives them their beautiful yellow colour, and has endless health benefits. I try to incorporate turmeric in my cooking as much as I can, so I thought, why not using it in sweet recipes as well? These little beauties are a perfect  afternoon pick me up and the turmeric adds an anti-inflammatory component. You can make a big batch on Sunday and have them ready to munch on them throughout the week.

Ingredients, for 10-12 balls:

2 small bananas, the riper, the better
1/2 cup oats
2 Tbsp peanut butter
3 Tbsp dried coconut powder
1-2 Tbsp sunflower seeds
1 Tbsp turmeric powder
a pinch of pepper
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp coconut oil

Mash the bananas with a fork until they are smooth, there shouldn’t be any pieces left. Add the oats and mix well. Add the peanut butter, honey, coconut oil, dried coconut, sunflower seeds and chia seeds. Let it stand for a few minutes and see if you need to add 1-2 Tbsp of water to make it easier to handle. Or if it’s too runny, you can add more oats or more coconut powder. Add the turmeric and the pepper and mix all the ingredients together. I have been doing it by hand because I don’t always have a blender while traveling, and it works very well, but you can also use a blender. Roll the dough into little balls and coat them with coconut powder.
Store in the fridge so they firm up. You can substitute the sunflower seeds for nuts, like cashews or almonds. Enjoy! 😜
